Summary
Working as a janitor for a megacorporation was never on Vox's life agenda, and yet nonetheless that's where he finds himself. Almost a year into his employment in RoseCorp's custodial division, Vox has nothing to show for the work over than a a series of strange dreams, a modest pay check, and more calluses than he ever thought were possible. However, things begin to change when Vox stumbles across a secret research facility hidden in bowels of his workplace, and meets the creature within.

"An alien, obviously. Really, Vox, were you born yesterday?" The voice crackled through the speakers, crisp and human, but beneath the sound of the speakers were odd sounds, muffled by the glass. Deep in his mind, he felt a reverberating thrum in his synapses, and he knew it was this creature…this alien.
An alien who knew his name.
All at once, vertigo overtook him, and everything faded and fuzzed into static. The taste of metal flooded his mouth.
The last thing he saw as his legs stopped working was that red, red eye.
