Chapter Text
The null. An infinite plane. An endless void of nothing.
An eternal hell that lasts forever.
No escape that any survivor knows of.
Nothing.
Sometimes, during the rounds, occasional breaks were served. Everything needed for a regular robloxian to function was given, food and water being optional. Same goes for the lobby, except it was more calmer. Any death during the rounds result in a pain.
A bothersome pain.
Something painful enough to wince, but not painful enough to stop them from functioning.
Glider's hands warped around the handles of the hand glider, as the wind hit Glider's face. It was a last robloxian standing, during a celestial. Glider was solely the only person that remained. He felt the determination gushing through his veins, as he landed onto a pylon, his feet feeling swift.
"..?- That pylon.." Glider whispered in a sharp voice, before reaching out and trying to activate it. Glider's whispers weren't heard by the spectating survivors, who flew around like ghosts and encouraged Glider with loud (Unheard cuz theyre ghosts or sm) cheers. Glider felt a sharp sting echo throughout their body, but nevertheless, kept running around the pylon in an attempt to get it to work, and to evade all enemies. Glider felt their head telling them to go back to that pylon. hearing loud whispers that kept stating that it was an exit. They didn't listen to the voices, continuing to run from the enemies.
"I hope Glider does well." Wanted said, as he spun round and round Glider's head, as Glider kept leaping and hopping onto Grindrails, and Jump pads (and grapple points but im too lazy to fix that). The stinging of the pylon started to feel unbearable. Glider kept having a sudden urge to fly back towards it. Determination kept them going, as they jumped onto the last pylon, and activating it. All tiles were fully gone, the only remains of those checkered tiles were the floating crumbs and a few pieces of dust that were left behind during the collapse.
"I don't feel well.. My death just sucked.." Charger groaned, complaining about the phantom pain left behind from Chargers death from bonking into Diver. (they both died from that btw) Grappler's ghost sat on the protective barrier of a pylon, throwing his grapple in boredom while watching Glider attempt to survive. Grappler noticed how pained Glider seemed ever since touching that one pylon, but for them, it didn't matter right now. What mattered is the entire run. Wanted swam his way to Grappler, goofing around like she was a fish.
"Being a ghost is fun! I wonder if Spirit experiences this in their spirit form." They giggled, continuing to do flips and tricks in the air. For the survivors, being a ghost was like being in water. Most of the classes loved being dead, but the after-pain of their death hurt, so most of them tried to survive whilst trying to get a painless death. Though playing in rounds, doing all that seemed fun, for the classes, it didn't. The only thing that crushed them was mental health issues, and the pain that could've been cause through death.
"KEEP RUNNING LIKE THE PUNY SOUL YOU ARE."
"YOU ARE STILL NOTHING."
"YOU ARE JUST A USELESS LITTLE WEAK THING MADE FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT OF THE VOID." The Celestial shrieked, shattering the eardrums of Glider as it caused a piercing ring in their ears. The background started to sing, as Glider lost their last shield, and all of their stamina was drained.
There was nothing to do but risk it.
They closed their eyes and made one last jump towards the beacon, their eyes firmly squeezed shut as they riskily leaped towards the light.
"Glider, wake up."
"Glider..! We're going to fight Celestial!" Diver held Glider's shoulder, as they jumped, trying to lift Glider in the process. Glider groaned, still rubbing their eyes as their vision began to unblur.
"Ehh.. Sorry Prisoner, but I doubt you'd make it." Charger exhaled with a monotone voice, pointing a finger at them as Prisoner gasped, pretending to be offended, even though it was true. Prisoner jokingly gave Charger a punch, staring at Charger in a slightly angry way. A void-like portal screeched to life as The Celestial's eyes showed pure hatred and disgust staring back at all survivors.
"ENOUGH. YOU ALL FAIL TO REALISE HOW PATHETIC AND SMALL YOU ARE." Celestial sharply screamed, speaking in a tone full of anger. She kept yelling, before aiming a wing at Prisoner.
"She's gonna call me unworth-" (Prisoner said this btw)
"AS FOR YOU. UNWORTHY. YOU ARE NOTHING." The Celestial chuckled, still talking in an angry manner. Wanted snickered to themself, patting Prisoner on the shoulder, slapping them on the back aswell.
"I SHALL BE THE ONE TO PUT YOU IN YOUR PLACE." Charger jumped and gasped, hearing Celestial's ear-piercing yell, before covering his ears with his hands.
"That's loud." Charger slowly laid their hands back down, as he watched The Celestial shrink into the portal. Charger's eyes drifted to the platforms where all the curses, upgrade shop, and enemy pickings were. 'BLOSSOM' The upgrade read, as eerie ambience came from around. Grappler walked up the to the podium, as they dropped their hand onto the floating decal.
"Good luck all." Spirit serenely (haha get it, serene, like serenity aka my other online name) muttered, keeping a breathy, low voice as everyone stood on the spawn point, observing all the tiles and scapes lag in. Due to the random spawn curse, everyone was split apart, put in different parts of the map. Celestial grumbled, as she cursed all the survivors from awakening her. She started to crack her cocoon open before pointing at Prisoner again.
"YOU.. YOU DISGRACE OF A SURVIVOR. DECAYING FILTH." The Celestial screamed.
"Oh well. I'm not gonna make it far." Prisoner shrugged, before running for the presents. Glider and Wanted spawned pretty near eachother, waving to eachother as they walked by to collect the gifts whilst avoiding lasers and attacks. Faint voices sang in the background, as Celestial kept throwing her attacks.
"INSUFFERABLE. THIS GARDEN OF MINE MUST ROT YOU FROM YOUR WOUNDS." Grappler panicked, looking at Diver who was struggling to avoid most attacks. All of a sudden, The Celestial unleashed a huge laser, following Diver's every move, before Diver tripped.
"DIVER!- I GOT YOU!" Diver was hauled by Grappler's hook. Diver gave a slight smile, before setting off towards the gifts. Celestial's eye darted towards Grappler, before hovering behind him. Grappler grumbled, feeling annoyed, yet understanding that it was better to save Diver.
(Time skip)
Only 3 survivors remained. Glider watched Charger and Wanted jump onto the shattered remains of crackled tiles, as Celestial's attacks start to become more and more aggressive. Glider felt like their skill wasn't good enough, looking back at Charger and Wanted, and found themself comparing them to everyone else as they glide across the map to reach pylons. Charger reached out their arms, lifting their body onto the last pylon. Celestial struck the pylon with her hands in an attempt to shake him off.
"YOU DEVOTE YOURSELF TO FIND ANSWERS. HOW FOOLISH. PERISH." Celestial struck the pylon's outer layer, shaking it, watching Charger scramble back to their feet. The beacon shined to life, Wanted being the first to enter. Glider's mind raced with other distractions, a small part of him of stinging from the pylon (that was liek from thelast round or sm) but that didn't stop him from entering the beacon. A blinding light engulfed the scapes, as Celestial defeatedly floated, wings still flapping from the chase between her and Charger. She watched as Charger's outline slowly faded into the beacon, the bandages wrapped around his hands mostly untied.
(im too lazy to write charger entering the beacon, sorry charger fans)
"YOU HOLD WHAT THAT FLOWER ROTTED WITHOUT."
"A LIGHT BRIGHTER THAN BRIGHT" (wtf does that mean bro 💔)
"ROOTS THAT RUN DEEPER THAN VOID."
Everyone but Glider were roaming around the intermission lobby, chatting to eachother. Glider unusually stood longer than usual.
Blankly.
Their expression seeming.. Off.
Like they didn't seem fully on.
Glider heard Celestial's voice, this time, it feeling more.. Friendlier, sprinkled with a light aggression.
"A flower awaits."
"One that outshined the rest."
"One that answers."
"The vines wrap tightly around it's stem, as a shine begins to lower."
"As it begins to hide its power."
"The pylon."
"The flower."
"Its vines feels real."
...
Glider's expression display a growing sense of dread, as a piercing pain begins to ache in their head."
"Glider..? Are you tired, dear? We can.. Go back." Spirit gently said, checking Glider's temperature by holding a cold hand over Glider's head. Glider shook their head, still laying on the floor, watching as Spirit picked up their hat, (atp i dont even know what to call it) gesturing for Grappler to support them back to the lobby.
"You guys can-.." (Grappler said this btw i dont want ppl getting confused)
"Diver, come help Spirit. The rest should come. You all seem tired and in pain anyway." Grappler declared, as him and Spirit supported Glider on their shoulders.
