In which Percival Graves is four months into his recovery after the events of 1926 when he gets some startling news. Credence Barebone, presumed to be dead, has been found and taken into MACUSA’s custody. Graves certainly won’t abide by that and takes Credence in to help him weather the storm that is Grindelwald, an Obscurus, the battle within himself, and a slow surrender to love.

Summary

Summary
This series started from a simple idea that has become a popular theme since the release of the new Fantastic Beasts film.
Specifically, what if the Dursleys' abuse (which everyone agrees is canon, at least to some extent) led to Harry becoming an Obscurial. Given that jumping off point, I decided to explore the consequences of this notion. In this case, things kick off well before Harry reaches Hogwarts age with the emergence of the Obscurus in Part 1.Part 1: Unexpected Consequences is complete. It covers Harry and Sirius' initial reunion in 1985.
Part 2: A Tale of Two Letters is complete. It takes place six year later, in the summer of 1991, and covers the Hogwarts invitations and the realizations that come in the aftermath of those letters' delivery.
Part 3: Irregular Homecomings is complete. It takes place starting in the summer of 1994, and is the events of Goblet of Fire in this universe.
Part 4: Appendices are reference notes for the series. Each chapter is independent, and chapters are posting periodically.

Summary
It started out small and innocently enough.
Newt had marveled at how far Credence had come in being able to control the obscurus in the years they had been traveling together. Perhaps controlled was the wrong word - now the obscurus and Credence seemed to exist as one being. It was truly astounding to watch Credence shift. One moment the young wizard would be there, the next fading at the edges until all that remained was a wisp of black sand.
