Sam swears he isn’t a sore loser. Sure, he’ll bitch and complain and accuse Bucky of cheating, but he won’t flake out on his end of the bargain. Which, in this case, is a week’s worth of household chores, because there’s certainly no other way Captain America would love to spend his down time in between missions. He looks down at his hands as he towels them dry, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the elephant in the room, which is the fact that Sam is currently wearing a fucking dress.
Right. A week’s work of household chores, paired with the punishment of wearing a fucking maid dress around the house for part of the week. Because he’s the idiot who had upped the stakes with a rematch, and because Bucky’s an asshole.

His squinted eyes shoot open. Had he been caught already? So quickly? He hadn't even made it to the door! But when the second moan came out of Bucky's mouth, followed by what sounded like “Please” and “I'm so close,” it dawned on Sam with incredible clarity, enough to make him freeze in front of the ajar door to his room, that Bucky wasn't hurt, exactly.
The sight he was met with only confirmed Sam's suspicions.
The man was hunched over on Sam's bed. The thudding coming from how heavy-handedly Bucky was thrusting into the sheets, so much so that Sam's whole bed moved with it.
Fuck. Bucky was jerking off in his room. To him. Thank the Lord—but also what the fuck.

Sam is in big trouble. See, when his boss told him he was going to send him on a work trip with a co-worker to finally lock down that big client, Sam just thought he’d have to break his routine for a couple of days. What could go wrong on a work trip?
The first clue that this was going to go haywire, was that the other co-worker was none other than James Buchanan Barnes aka the bane of Sam’s existence. Barnes was good at his job, he was just an asshole with absolutely zero sense of sociability.
The man was a grump, constantly avoiding human interaction and no one ever saw him smile ever. Well, until today that is.
The reason that Sam is in so much shit right now, is that the fingers buried in his ass do not belong to his husband. Instead, they belong to the handsome but assholish coworker who apparently only smiles when Sam whimpers.

Bucky hums, mumbles something along the lines of "Sammy baby" or "Honey baby" or whatever other sweet nothings he says when Sam burrows under his chin and guides Bucky's arms around him, wrapping him in a loose hug that makes Sam's pulse sing and his heart stutter. While under the warmth of his boyfriend's embrace with his belly full and lips fixed in a permanent, lazy smile, Sam presses a quick kiss to Bucky's neck, then hits play on the movie queued up on the Roku, and slumps into Bucky's arms and his chest and beneath his hands as the start of that new space movie blares from the TV.
Project something, or another, that's the name of it. Well, at least that's what Sam can gather since he missed the title card—despite wanting to see the movie since its release date, mind you—because they're not even ten minutes into the film when Bucky's hands slip under his shirt and, now, Sam can't focus on the handsome blond actor, nor even remember the goddamn title once Bucky starts touching him.
or: sam has a thing for blond hair and blue eyes, which kinda pisses bucky off since he has absolutely none, so he turns it into a Whole Thing. strangely enough, sam's alright with it.

It was just supposed to be sex. Something to take the edge off and keep them distracted at the Avengers Compound, while they trained and trained and waited for world-ending missions that never seemed to happen anymore.
But a friends-with-benefits situation between the Falcon and the Winter Soldier was probably doomed from the start. Sam’s never been able to lessen how much he cares and play by the rules. Bucky can’t seem to keep his heart closed off and not get caught up in his emotions. And despite themselves, despite Bucky’s relentless nightmares and Sam’s guilt and grief, they fall for each other harder and deeper than they ever would’ve imagined.
Oh, and everyone figures it out. Everyone except Steve.

A photo of Barnes had been sent to him last night of him here, in Norway, after he’d trekked through basically all of Sweden on a similar trail. The blizzard had slowed his travel considerably – as well as the mountainous terrain and a GPS that kept giving him unusable roads – and hell, Barnes was almost definitely in the wind again now.
When his phone rings in his pocket, he doesn’t have to look to know who’s calling. “Hey, Steve,” he says, trying to keep the exhaustion and frustration out of his voice.
“Hi, Sam,” Steve says, “Are you driving still?”
“No,” Sam breathes, scrubbing his face with his free hand. “Finally found a motel. Gonna hit the hay, I guess.”
He can hear Steve’s frown over the phone, “You’ve been sleeping, right? You sound tired.”
No, Steve, I haven’t slept in 36 hours because I’ve had to haul ass for the last twenty to have even a slim fucking chance at finding your best friend, is what he doesn’t say. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
