He turns, and meets a too-wide too-sharp smile with a cold stare.

Summary
Hitoshi and Izuku have both already started eating, discussing their training with Present Mic after school when Todoroki Shouto from Class 1-A sits down next to Izuku casually, looking all too comfortable next to Hitoshi’s best friend.
“Oh! Um, Todoroki! I didn’t know you were planning on joining us for lunch!” Izuku never stutters like that during lunch anymore. Hitoshi hates it. He’s fully prepared to murder Endeavor’s son; he tries to convey this to Izuku with his eyes, but Izuku seems to not notice.
“Well, we’re friends now, so it seems appropriate to join you for lunch,” Todoroki says, and Hitoshi realizes this guy is painfully awkward. “Is that okay?”
He sounds pathetically sad at the idea of Izuku telling him no, like kicked puppy sad. It's almost cute, and that makes Hitoshi kind of mad for some reason.
Izuku smiles, wide and bright and genuine, and Hitoshi realizes he’s stuck with Todoroki now, because for whatever reason, Izuku actually genuinely likes him. “I’d like that! I — I mean, if it’s okay with Toshi, that is...?”

Summary
No one exactly knows when it becomes a regular occurence until it’s an integral part of dorm life. Half the time, calm cool and collected Todoroki can be seen napping anywhere and everywhere. Perhaps it’s the downward pull of his shoulders at the end of the day that drive some to lower their voices to soft cadences when they find him asleep in the common room. Or perhaps it’s the often repeated phrase of, “I’m sleepy,” and the fact that no one has ever seen Todoroki look so peaceful as he does when he sleeps.
Sometimes, he falls asleep in his classmates’ rooms. It’s never on purpose… usually—it’s usually never on purpose. But there are days when their friend has bags under his eyes that could rival Aizawa’s, and they can’t help but push him towards the nearest place for a nap.
If it’s purely accidental, they let him do it anyways, never questioning it.
Or: 5 times Todoroki fell asleep somewhere other than his room, and the 1 time he's the only one awake.

Summary
Shouto was aware of heat, and then he saw fire roaring from his body as he slammed his left fist into the metal, again, again, screaming as his bones crunched. The door shifted, vicious grating noise echoing through the stairwell, until finally, finally, it gave way, heated metal flying from the frame. Shouto fell to his hands and knees, crying so hard he felt like he'd throw up. But he only stayed down for a second. Sucking in a last deep breath, Shouto wrenched himself up and ran, feet flying over the concrete, across the rooftop, until he skidded to a sharp, unsteady halt at the edge, his chest laboring, the asphalt of the Heights Alliance parking lot staring up at him from five stories below.
OR
Shouto Todoroki decides to take his own life by jumping off of the Heights Alliance roof, and everyone is left shattered in the aftermath. So, all the people in Shouto's life go out of their way to show him just how much he's loved.

It had been hard at first, but as time passed, every single student in class 1a had played a part in breaking Shouto's emotional walls down, and each student had fallen in love with the boy behind them, with his small shy smiles and unhealthy obsession with soba.
So they were absolutely livid when suddenly, after one short patrol, one villains quirk, and one selfless act, the truth had come out about why the dual haired boy had been so cautious, so emotionless.
And they knew they couldn't change his past, but they could save his future, and that would be enough.
And these are the things they did in between.
Or, Shouto gets hit by a quirk that replays your worst memories, class 1a gets ready to take Enji to court, and Shouta's a proud dad - erm, teacher.

The news had broken two months ago, one month before the start of the new semester. Number two hero Endeavour had been found dead, killed in his own home. His son had quickly been determined the number one suspect, and within a matter of hours the boy had been branded a villain.
Aizawa knows all of this, had seen the body of the former hero himself and the gruesome death that had befallen him. But he had also seen blood that wasn't Endeavour's staining the bed sheets, and heard of the isolation, training and dicipline the child had gone through from his sibblings.
And now, two months later, with All might standing outside his door with the new Todoroki villain in tow, Aizawa can't make himself think of the boy as anything other than a victim.
