Inej had had no plan when she ducked into the coffee shop. She had spotted Aart following her and thought only to get around more people in case he almost certainly started something. As she approached the door, she spied a man sitting near the door, apparently alone, with a textbook open in front of him, and made a split second decision to hope that he was a decent person and would help her out.
“Hi,” she said, dropping into the seat across from him. He looked up at her, eyes wide. “Sorry, pretend to be my boyfriend?”

Kaz slid gracefully into the spot just beside Inej, stretching his legs before him, and letting their child crawl into his lap.
“Go on,” he murmured, his eyes on the barge in the distance.
Inej’s breath caught slightly at the words, and by the twist of Kaz’s lips he knew it.
“My people don’t believe in death the same way...” she paused, considering, “shevrati do.”
At this, their daughter giggled. “You’re shevrali, Papa.”
Kaz made an affronted sound but there was no mistaking his grin; he adored when their daughter was clever, even when, maybe especially when, it was at his expense.

Day 1: (Gods) - Goddess Nina makes a deal with God Kaz to save the mortal, Inej. In exchnage she'll love with him for three months. A lot can happen in that time.
Day 2: (Life/Death) - Kaz embraces Death until a meeting with the embodiment of Life, Inej who changes his view.
Day 3: (Pirates) - Pirate Queen Inej has captured ruthless merman, Dirtyhands. He knows about her parents mysterious drowning and she wants answers!
Day 4: (Corruption, Ambition and Bullets)
A strange man offers Inej a job. Should she stay with the Dregs or forge a new path?
Day 5: (Domesticity and Affection)
Inej recounts her years at sea and her relationship with Kaz. Now it's led them to this moment, when he presents her with the greatest gift of all: a knife.
Day 6: (Fake Relationships)
This mission was simple. Pretend to be a couple, steal the the diamonds and leave. So why was Kaz making it hard?
Day 7: (Arguments)
Inej and Kaz get into a fight. but it doesn't last long for reconciliation, especially with another body between them. -
