“Someone like me?”, Ashtoreth repeated questioningly.
“Someone who’s as confident and clever and classy as you. I thought you to be a woman of high standards and even better options and here you are, swooning like a schoolgirl over the gardener.”
“His name is Brother Francis”, Ashtoreth corrected him stiffly. “And whoever said he’s not up to my allegedly high standards? Have you talked more than two words with him yet?”
“So it’s true?”, Thaddeus asked, dread crawling up his spine. “You and the gardener…”
“Whatever I do in my free time is, with all due respect Sir, none of your business”, she snapped at him. And with a pleased smirk she added: “Or whom.”
OR: Thaddeus has the hots for Nanny Ashtoreth, so when he finds out she prefers Brother Francis over him, he decides to do something about it.

“Oh, I wasn’t exactly keeping track, you know!”
His eyes are so shifty. Crowley has missed this menace more than air.
“Come on, an estimate then. A guess. I’m assuming you were in training for at least a week - “
“A month.” Aziraphale immediately slaps a hand over his mouth, whereas Crowley’s drops open in delight.
“A month!”
“It was really quite excessive,” he replies. “I mean, a whole month to discuss ‘policy changes’! I may not have been stationed there for a few millennia, but honestly. Why did I need to spend a month being told all of the rules that they brought me up in the first place to change?”
Crowley refuses to allow the deflection, feeling more delight than he knows what to do with. “You’ve only been gone for a month and a half! What on earth did you DO?”

Summary
Crowley wasn’t a nice man. By most who met him, he’d be described as the complete opposite of nice, and he knew that he wasn’t a man. Angels and demons had a different idea of gender to what most humans considered this construct to be, and Crowley was proud to not conform to what most of them seemed to want him to be. He delighted in causing as much chaos as possible, and pissing off uptight and close minded humans was far too big a temptation to resist.

Ever since Aziraphale got back from Heaven, his and Crowley's relationship has gone back to normal. Crowley doesn't want it to stay that way.

It had been about a year since Aziraphale was back from Heaven. Long story short, things had gone…. not to plan, and Aziraphale was ‘forcefully relieved’ of his position of Supreme Archangel. So, he returned to his shop and things returned to normal.Normal wasn’t enough for Crowley.
Normal meant their usual dance. It consisted of lingering touches and sneaking peeks at each other. Stumbling around the word ‘friend’ and wishing people would stop asking what they were. Neither of them having the courage to talk. Crowley intended to put an end to that today.
