Summary
“Sheldon,” Leonard began slowly, choosing his words with care, “I need to tell you something important.”
Sheldon’s brow furrowed in confusion, though his body was still wracked with discomfort. He looked up at Leonard, his sharp blue eyes dulled by exhaustion. “What is it?”
Leonard swallowed hard, feeling the weight of the moment settle on his shoulders. He twiddled with his fingers, something Leonard always did when he was getting anxious. “I’m not… I’m not a Beta.”
Sheldon blinked, his mind struggling to process what Leonard was saying. His lips parted, as though he was about to say something, but no words came.
“I’ve been hiding it… for years. I’m actually an…” Leonard paused, forcing himself to meet Sheldon’s gaze, “I’m an Alpha, Sheldon.”
“No,” Sheldon muttered, shaking his head, though the motion made him dizzy. “No, you can’t be.”
Or, where a sudden heat forced hidden truths into the open, and the real Alpha Sheldon always pretended to be turned out to be the one person he never expected.
