Elric has recently begun a job as a serving boy in the castle at Camelot. It should be an easy task, with his two years of experience, but he simply cannot understand Merlin, the king’s manservant. Why do the other servants go to him for their duties, when he clearly has no idea what he’s doing? Why was King Arthur taking advice from him? Why does the entire castle simply accept this?
This is not typical behaviour of a manservant.
