    The Creche Masters were often considered the last line of defence against external threats. Today marked the first time in centuries that their hand was forced. Alarms echoed through the eerily empty halls. In the distance, the sound of battle could be heard but it had not yet reached the heart of the Temple quite yet.

    The fight ahead would not be pretty. It would not be long before it arrived.

    The tall ornate doors leading to the most inner sanctum of the Coruscant Temple had been shut and locked. Behind it, the Jedi Younglings were being readied for evacuation.

    In front of the door stood a lone figure.

    This was hardly the first time Creche Master Obi-Wan Kenobi acted as a sentry, though this position might just be his most crucial one. His huddle of Younglings were behind the doors at his back, and he would die before letting anyone through those doors.

    He stood still, unmoving and unafraid. Taking a deep breath, Obi-Wan took his saber and held it. He knew what he had to do, and he would stop at nothing to do it.

    These Mandalorians would pay for breaking into the Temple with their lives.

    Cody squinted at her through the fast moving lights and said the first thing that popped into his head. It wasn’t particularly intelligent but he was beyond bewildered, “But I’m gay.”

    “Oh yeah, that’s likely,” she huffed, slapping him again on the other cheek.

    “I- I’m not-” Cody said, trying to explain that he was the wrong damn clone, thank you very much. Instead he said, “Not me, I-I’m married.”

    The woman was visibly thrown by the appalling explanation and watched Cody for a moment before saying (albeit a little more uncertainly), “Marriage doesn’t stop men like you… Wait.”

    Cody watched as it dawned on her.

    “Oh shite, you’re not Wolffe.”

    Or, 5 times Cody was mistaken for someone else, and 1 time he wasn't.

He just… you know… drops him off with his (surprise!) packed bag and runs away to take off while Ben is boggling at his guardian’s latest example of shenanigans and bad communication, even if his heart is in the right place.

    And it’s true that Hondo Ohnaka’s plans are always perfect and profitable. It’s also true that he inadvertently saves the galaxy because of this. (You’re Welcome!)

    But that’s Hondo’s side of the story.

    “Going to Mandalorian Space is suicide.”

    “I would rather risk my life than see children used as political pawns or worse, as leverage in war.”

    “They are the enemy, Obes. If they get their hands on you they would not be so gracious.”

    “There are no enemy children in war. Just children.”

    Quinlan knew there was no convincing Obi-Wan at this point. “Fine. But don’t come crying to me when things go wrong.”

    They both knew Quinlan would be the first to aid Obi-Wan should things go wrong.

    After meeting Jaster Mereel, Din is finally tempted away from the life of a simple bounty hunter to save Mandalore, whose magnolia flowers still grow.

    This story is a stand-alone inspired by Forget-Me-Knot, they take completely different routes: instead of Obi-Wan time travelling its our favourite Mando, Din Djarin who had run out of marks with this magical nonsense and Baby Yoda who’s just happy to be along for the ride. No multiverse, no paradox, all is the Force.

    Obi-Wan froze in place the moment he looked up. His eyes observed the large statues one by one.

    Plo Koon, Mace Windu, Kit Fisto– they were all Councillors during the War.

    Obi-Wan stood in front of the statues as tears welled up in his eyes. He hadn’t seen them in a long time and these statues looked exactly like them. From facial features and expression down to the way they were seated– as if they were in a regular Council meeting.

    “Look Uncle Ben! It’s–” Obi-Wan leaped to Luke and covered his mouth before he could say anything else.

    “Yes, I see, it’s General Kenobi.” He hoped the beings whose attention was drawn towards them would move on quickly. “But try not to shout, Luke, alright?”

    His eyes left the boy to observe the statue of himself.
