The start to my Black Phone X Stranger things series where I put Steve through literal hell :D
Doesn't go big into Stranger Things story line yet, mostly setting things up (Like Steve's adoption and name change) but this is my changes for what happens to Steve during the events of black phone. I moves all the character's birth years up by one except Vance who's was moved up by 2 years, but the timeline of when they get kidnapped is still the same. Yes that means they were al younger when the Grabber kidnaps them. Black phone 2 doesn't exist in this but lore from there is still important.I can’t write kids for shit

Summary
Inspired by Halfway Happy, and pieces of other fics that will be linked as this progesses.
What if Steve Harrington was an experiment of the Lab, number 007, burdened with the unfortunate ability of immortality but at least he isn't alone. Another kid of the lab, around the same age as Steve, has been a part of Steve's life longer than he realized. 010 went under many similar experiments as Steve in the lab being another immortal number, with their main ability being shapeshifting. Starts from before season 1 in the lab for a chapter, before starting around season 1/2 and going through the whole show. The lab will haunt the narrative? Only going up to season 4. Will update in very long sporadic periods.
Feat. The Author's poorly disguised hyper-fixation on music
Hopefully each chapter with be named thematically after a song or lyrics from a song (Mainly 70s-80s songs), and each chapter will include a link of the song(s) + other songs that would've fit.

Stars. The sky is full of them.
Steve blinks. Eddie and Billy’s faces swim into view. They look divine against the starry background. Would be nice if he could see clearly though... It feels like there’s gunk in his eyes. Everything’s all blurred. Steve tries to raise his hand to wipe his eyes, but his arms are too heavy. He should probably worry about that. But the stars are so damn beautiful, and Eddie and Billy are on either side of him, just as stunning. Maybe they’re holding him down? If they are, it must be for a good reason. The air weighs him down like a warm, heavy quilt. It’s like being bound, but better since the pressure is all around him, not just the bindings.“Are you crying?” Steve asks Billy, trying to pull him into his arms. Billy shakes his head violently. “You’re allowed to cry,” Steve insists. “Don’t cry alone.” He manages to raise his arm. It’s so heavy, and even this motion makes his entire body quiver with the effort. Fortunately, Billy folds into him easily. Steve takes a deep breath. The stars get closer. His tongue gets even heavier. Slowly, the world goes black.

Summary
“Last time I checked, people who love you don’t do this,” Steve motions to his black eye before turning and bolting out the front door. He shuffles in his pocket with shaking hands, frantic to find his keys. He hops into the driver side of his car, shutting the door with terror as his Mom rushes out the front door.
Steve's parents might've loved him at one point, but that stopped many years ago. After a brutal beating from his Father he decides to leave, driving to the Byer's household and getting help from Joyce like he usually does. After that he goes to Robin, where many confessions are made and Eddie Munson makes an appearance.

Summary
After an altercation with his dad, Steve hides away in the pantry in his kitchen and calls for help on the walkie-talkie. Luckily, Eddie is awake and comes to the rescue, stealing Steve away to stay at the Munsons’ until it’s safe for Steve to go back. Steve hates when either of his parents come home to visit, especially when it’s his dad. It feels ridiculous to say but Steve thinks he’d rather face another Demogorgon.
A Demogorgon will smell blood in the water and kill on sight, but Mr. Harrington has a habit of dragging it out and making sure his prey knows they’re bleeding. The monsters under the bed are nothing compared to the monsters down the hall, Steve’s an expert. He’s known for a long time now how messed up it all is, he knows he needs out, needs help, but it feels impossibly hard. It’s normal for him and he’s dealt with it this long, he just needs to tough it out until he can afford his own place.
It doesn’t occur to Steve that he has a plethora of people willing to fight monsters at his side, whether the monsters are from the Upside Down or his own home. With the help of his monster hunting crew, Steve escapes his parents and learns what love is really supposed to be.

Steve Harrington is fourteen when he goes to the library to learn all he can about how soulmates work. Turns out that it's way more complicated than what they told him in school. Because soulmates don't mean love at first sight, and soulmates can be Platonic, and you might have known your soulmate all your life before something clicks and you see colors for the first time, and honestly? It sound like a giant mess!
