It once drowned Regulus, and he doesn’t want to crawl out of the water again. He wants it all to end. He knows they have to do this. This house created them, and it ate them up, and it spit them out all scarred up. Just like their mother.
Sirius is the only person in the world who understands, and that’s precisely why Regulus delivers him these next words.
