Summary
The bomb goes off at 2102, October 21st, 2014 in a warehouse in Red Hook.
The fire department contains the burn within twenty minutes. There are no casualties. Every building in the immediate area had been abandoned for years.
Based on chemical analysis and blast pattern, the arson unit hypothesizes that the source of the explosion was a cache of previously inactive Cold War era munitions. How it came to be in the warehouse, no one knows. Gun runners, maybe. Some wannabe gangster who didn’t know what he got his hands on. There is no evidence of foul play or terrorist involvement. The investigation is closed.
The cleanup crew discovers, seventy-two hours later, that there was a man attached to the bomb.
