“I cannot believe you,” Crowley grumbled, arms wound Aziraphale in a tight embrace. “You are absolutely ridiculous.”
“You're the one who asked what I would like most of all,” Aziraphale pointed out calmly, returning the hug with a will. “All I did was answer truthfully.”
“I would have done anything for you! Anything at all! Miracled you anything, taken you anywhere, given you… you could’ve had anything, and this is what you go and ask for?!”
“You shouldn’t have made the offer, if you weren’t prepared to follow through on the results.”
“Argh.” Crowley let his head rest on Aziraphale’s shoulder. “You bastard.”
“Really, you can’t complain just because I gave you an honest response.” Aziraphale paused, still leaning into Crowley’s arms. “Are you complaining?”
“Ngh. Nope. Not in the least.”
“Oh, good.” Aziraphale pulled back, slightly, so he could smile into Crowley’s eyes. “Because I certainly stand by my choice. Has anyone ever told you you give very good hugs?”
“Mfshg.”
“They should have. You give very good hugs. At the moment, I can’t think of anything better.”
Crowley grumbled something else unintelligible — or possibly it was more of a purr than an actual grumble — and the hug continued.
