“It’s too damn hot in here.”
Will squinted at Mike’s figure in his dim bedroom, moonlight floating in lazily through the open window. The open window that was supposed to make it cooler, damn it, but instead it just let in the bugs that usually buzzed around during Midwestern summers.
“It’s ‘cause I’m in here,” Will whispered, almost a trigger reaction at this point, because flirty banter had been something he’d grown accustomed to in California, and he was still learning to tone it down when he was with Mike.

Will and Mike have been sharing a room since the apocalypse took over Hawkins. On a hot summer night, Will tries to cope with everything that has happened to him. Lucky for him, Mike helps.
