Day 2: Childhood Friends to Lovers
"No, no, you can't-" The voice who he presumed to be one belonging to Mr. Walker called out way too quickly. "There's an overhanging beam on our side that's in a really sketchy spot and if it falls because of impact, I'd rather all the kids be out of here first."
"Sir, we have to get you out at some point," Sapnap said, peeking his head into the hole.
"Pandas?"
Sapnap froze, his light still shining on the face of the person talking on the other side. Sapnap's eyes barely adjusted to try and make out his face, but by that nickname alone, Sapnap didn't need to see his face.
Mr. Walker, Mr. Walker,
Mr. Walker.Dream.
"Dream?" Sapnap muttered in shock.
"A firefighter," Dream laughed. "Oh wow."
If you told Sapnap that he would once again meet his long-lost childhood best friend, the one that went away to join the Navy SEALs, in the middle of trying to do his job, saving people from a natural disaster, Sapnap would simply say no thank you. No, he didn't want to meet the so-called best friend who left for 7 years, 4 of which were in total radio silence, causing Sapnap to think he was dead. No thank you.

“I could’ve,” Dream admits. “So many times.”
Sapnap stays quiet a moment, and while Dream sniffles, the little girl in his lap turns, taps against his face like the tears are common. Dream kisses at her hand, promises her he is okay. He acts like nothing is wrong. Like Sapnap isn’t crying in front of him too, when he should be scolding Dream.
“Why didn’t you?” Sapnap asks as he swipes the back of his hand over his nose. “I mean, not even George?”
The mention of their other friend brings Dream into a new reality. Soft, brown, messy hair on his screen, a grin that laughs and cheeks that turn rosy any time Dream teases him. A light squeal into his headset at the late hours of the night, once Dream is alone in his tranquility. George, the rough paper that sands Dream down. Warm, fluffy bread. Fuck, Dream thinks.
Dream decides to tell his friends about his daughter right before they move in.

Day 7: Friends with Benefits to Lovers
"I'm in Groundhog Day," George said.
"What?" Both Sapnap and Dream said.
"I know, I know what that sounds like-" George said. "But I've lived through this day three times. Sunday, the 23rd."
"Maybe he is going through a mental breakdown," Sapnap whispered to Dream though George was well within the hearing distance.
"Look, every morning, I woke up in bed with Karl. Karl came over Saturday night and not Sunday night. I make him coffee, and kick him out. Around that time, my mother will call me saying she's landed and wants to get lunch with me tomorrow-" George rambled.
"Your mother's in town?" Dream questioned.
"See, see?" George exclaimed, his finger furiously pointing at Dream. "We've had this conversation before. You've asked me this before."
"I feel like that's a pretty standard question to ask when your friend's mother is in town," Dream mumbled.
George is stuck in a time loop, reliving the same seemingly mundane Sunday over, and over, and over again. He gets some help trying to figure out how to escape it.

dream and sapnap have always been touchy, from the moment sapnap walked into the house they'd both call home. and maybe they're a little too touchy, but it's never been a problem.
until george moves in, and it becomes abundantly clear they are far more comfortable with each other than is generally considered 'friendly'.
determined to prove george wrong, they begin to push the boundaries of what 'friendly' is- but there's only so much pushing a boundary can take before it crumbles to bits.
or: they keep having sex and try to pretend it doesn't mean a thing.
