“Well?” Jay asks. “Am I still annoying? What do you think of me now?”
He’s grinning that lopsided grin of his, and he’s so beautiful that Heeseung can hardly stand it, and when he opens his mouth what he allows to come out is:
“I can’t stand you.”
It’s disgusting how quickly his words cause that smile to slip. Jay’s face has always reminded him of the sky— beaming and bright one second, then just as easily darkening in a flash, dimmed by a spontaneous clouding over.
He wants to take back his words, but he can’t. It’s harder to retract a truth than a lie, and Heeseung has never lied. Not even once.
