Summary
Kabuto and Sasori are childhood friends that haven't seen each other in seven years. When Kabuto moves to complete his MD, they do their best to pick up where they left off. Restarting in a new city brings much more than one friend and a new job. In addition to Sasori, there's Sasori's boyfriend, Deidara, and their odd assortment of friends that call themselves "Akatsuki." Kabuto's TA-ing for Orochimaru, will be undergoing his residency under the critical Senju Tsunade, lives in an apartment building with the unnervingly perceptive Itachi and his cheerless younger brother, Sasuke, and finds himself forming an unexpected friendship with a shy teen volunteer named Hinata. On top of all that, there's also the annoying man who keeps nicking surgical masks from the hospital...
[Modern day AU. No powers. Ensemble cast. Nobody dies (!!!). Happy endings (!!!).]

Summary
He didn't absolutely love it, but he didn't hate it, which meant it was leaps and bounds ahead of Deidara's usual taste in entertainment. Then again, Deidara was a broad consumer of media; he'd watch or read or play just about anything. Sasori had particular tastes and he clung to them. But he should've given him more credit. It wasn't as if he was completely clueless about those particular tastes.
But a comedy about four aged women would not have been his first guess to replace their marathoning of the X-Files. He supposed that was just the sort of chaotic neutrality that Deidara brought into his life.

Because someone had not sufficiently wondered why the mucus around the body's nose and mouth was discolored and had prematurely looked into the esophagus and lungs to try to find a cause. And then everyone in the room had to go through decontamination because no one was quite sure what the stuff that had bubbled out had been.
Sasori leveled a glare over at the intern.

"What exactly happened?" Kabuto asks, to get a better picture of events (and what Sasori would be inevitably bitching about in aggravated French to him later).
"So, I found out I can't fly, yeah?" Deidara summarizes. Uselessly.
"He fell out of a window and broke his fall with his hands. Minor scrapes and a fractured wrist, and he is very lucky," Hinata translates. Helpfully.
"It was the third story," he adds with a smugness in his tone he shouldn't possess.
