Summary
"So that is what you are," she whispered, voice soft with wonder.
He nodded, the shyness returning in a small smile.
"So beautiful," she murmured, canting her head to the side and smiling in return. Her keen eyes did not miss how the water rippled lightly as he moved to stay upright, the moonlight catching on the gray scales, turning them silver.
Beautiful? A word used to describe his voice, but never his kind.

Summary
Their story became part of folklore and fairytales. The story of a Princess cursed to take the form of a swan during the day, only to return to her natural form once the moon rose.
The stories were wrong in but two regards. She was no Princess. She bore no title. And it was no sorcerer who cursed her. But the father of the man she loved. She was a maid, a servant in the Palace in which he was Prince.
Blamed for seducing Asgard's second Prince, she was cursed. A curse only to be broken by the purest act of love. Their story would cement itself as one of history's greatest romances.
Calling upon his enemies and his brother to protect her, Loki fights every opportunity to be married off and for the chance to break the curse on the one he loves.

Summary
"It's just that," she said, eyes going distant and her smile trembled at the edges. "You remind me of someone who was very dear to me."
A single, solitary tear escaped her eye and traced a shining path down her cheek. He felt his hand twitch, itching to swipe it away and lay a hand against her cheek. A gesture so familiar, but now forbidden. He simply watched her, illuminated by the early afternoon sun. What little he saw of her, he cherished.
"Your eyes are like his too," she murmured, unaware of the raw and unadulterated adoration in his eyes as he drank in her image, her being. "Like the finest emerald. The colour of new leaves in the Spring."
"I am unworthy of such compliments," he said in reply. "But I thank Your Highness for her kind words."
Her smile was sad as she regarded him, head bowed in dutiful submission. Reaching out, she gently tipped his chin up, their eyes meeting. It seemed for a moment as though she wanted to say something more, but soon thought better of it. "I shan't keep you from your duties," she said softly and stepped back.
"Your Highness," he said, bowing. Only once her footsteps echoed on the cobblestones, did he look up. "My love," he whispered.

Summary
"By the time help arrives, it'll be much too late for you," she cooed, watching as he struggled for breath. A smile curved her lips and a satisfied sigh accompanied it.
By now, he had fallen to his knees, one hand clawing at his throat as though to extract the thrice damned piece of poisoned fruit. Hacking coughs and wheezing breaths were the only sounds he made.
"A very special poison," she continued, crouching down before him. "One that even your precious huntress won't be able to save you from."
Her words largely went unheard by him. Breathing was becoming difficult and the world was closing in around him until it blackened completely.
Standing, she idly toed his limp form, her smile having grown. "Good luck surviving this one, brother." With that, she turned and left the room, leaving him there, lifeless eyes open and looking to the open door.
The apple had long since rolled from his grasp and lay not far from him with only one bite taken.

Summary
Condemned to live in isolation in Asgard's northern mountains, Loki is given no companion save for a rose slowly consumed by flame. Should the rose be ash before he has won the heart and trust of another, then his seidr would be no more and the form he so despised would be on display for all to see.
Years would pass before hope would enter his life again.
Caught in a snow storm and having been separated from her friend, a young woman enters the palace. A face he knows. From the shadows he watches her and remembers their friendship that once stood to be something more. Her curiosity takes her to the burning rose. Surrounded by wrought iron, the bloom is untouchable and held by a hand poured of the same metal.
Until she reaches out and touches it. She takes it and is not burnt. Frightened by his cry of fear, she runs. But those who cross onto the grounds, can never leave.
