Ten years ago, Abolish had told himself he was going to visit Scott, Shelby, and Drift. Shocking absolutely no one, he did not end up doing that.
Now he was standing at the entrance to their neighborhood, silent and motionless as snow started to fall around it. It really should be getting to their house by now before it froze to death. That was absolutely the last thing it wanted to do, however, even if that was also the thing it wanted to do most. Its feelings were very complicated.

"I honestly don't get what's so… important, about all this," Abolish said slowly as he watched Avid struggle to hang an ornament up near the top of the tree. As she stood on her toes, Pyro walked over and took the ornament from her hand, placing it up near the top of the tree where she couldn't reach. Avid pouted at him before quickly leaning down to grab another ornament.
As Scott looked over at him, he continued, "I mean, it's just a tree. And ornaments you bought at Target."
