Summary
In 2377, Lieutenant Commander Julian Bashir leads the Curiosity project, an experimental R&D initiative testing next-generation Federation systems out of Deep Space Nine. For the prototype tricorder's first field test, the away team picks an uncharted Gamma Quadrant world chosen specifically for its sensor-defying interference. The interference is exactly what they expected. What's hunting them through the forest is not.
Series premiere of Curiosity. Classic Trek DNA with an episodic structure, idea-driven science fiction, competent characters, focus on the friendship between Julian and Miles, and crew as found family.Series

Summary
The Curiosity detours after a successful prototype test for a routine wellness check on a Federation colony that missed its monthly check-in. The relay is down, the harvest is on schedule, and the administrator has nothing to report. Three junior officers walk the colony and come back unsettled by something none of them can name. The water is good, the harvest is on schedule, and the colony's four hundred residents are doing fine. They're all doing fine. Every single one of them is doing fine.

Summary
"Test to rank, they said. Like it was an option." Miles O'Brien gets his Lieutenant Commander pips and blames Julian entirely — for the rank, for the ship, for the move to DS9, for all of it. The fact that he said yes to every step along the way is, structurally, beside the point.
Six months earlier, on Earth, Julian's recruitment campaign for Curiosity wore down a first-year Academy instructor's initial no through one office visit, one dinner, and one quiet conversation with Keiko that Miles didn't find out about until much later.

Summary
The Curiosity finds a derelict drifting in empty space, eleven people in stasis, three years dark. While Julian and Miles work to keep an alien pod from failing on a field bypass, Cat fights a translation matrix that wasn't built for the language she's reading, and Ensign Torren, left with the bridge for the first time in his career, uses the quiet hours to construct an extended hypothetical about what it would be like to have an Augment aboard the ship. The captain of the derelict stayed at his post. Some decisions are reasonable and end the ship anyway.

Summary
Curiosity diverts from the anomaly mission to answer an automated distress signal, and finds a civilization that died with the lights still on, open windows, and a fountain carved with figures locked in an embrace. The truth is quieter and stranger than anyone expects. Meanwhile, Torren, still finding his footing around a captain he's only just learned is an Augment, brushes something he shouldn't have.

Summary
It's Cheesy Sci-Fi Night, and this time the holodeck plays back. Cat's new narrative engine drops the crew into a 1950s android-paranoia B-movie. One remote lab, three weeks of destroyed work, and a saboteur whose hands are built to a tolerance no biological organism can match. Source material is texture; the players are the plot. Velik suspects an android within ninety seconds, Ezri is a visiting researcher from... "out of town", Miles is regrettably a colleague of Doctor Strange and nobody is allowed to keep the ping-pong eye afterwards.

Summary
The Curiosity holds station at a safe distance from the anomaly that killed the Pellucid and silenced a second ship. The array needs hours to collect; the crew needs something to do with the wait. Cat finds a problem to build. Torren finds a message signed by a name he shouldn't be seeing. And small things start going wrong across the ship... an off by one error, a replicator handing out a drink nobody ordered, a captain whose corrections are landing a half-step sharper than the moment asked for.
Nothing's wrong with the hull. Nothing's wrong with the systems. Everyone reads normal against baseline.
Including the captain.

Summary
Conclusion of Long Distance. The anomaly that destroyed one ship and almost another isn't a weapon, it's a malfunction, and it's spilling into the crew. With Julian relieved of command, Miles runs the ship, Cat runs the data, and everyone runs a little closer to their own edge.

Summary
Q leaves Julian a wedding present: a cat that might be a metaphor. Somewhere in Quark's storeroom, six crates that were never meant to be opened are opening themselves.
One of these facts is going to matter more than the other, and not the one you'd think. A busy week on Deep Space Nine, in which Nog makes Chief Engineer, something with too many legs makes the docking ring its own, and the difference between a manageable predator and an unmanageable one turns out to be about a second and a half.Series

Summary
MILES: Julian. I love you. I want that on the record before I say the next part.
Garak has a small thing. It involves a retired schoolteacher, a placement program that doesn't exist, and software that has to tell one specific reader a consistent lie for the next six years. The science mission is real. That's what makes it a good cover.
Closes on Garak naming a thing that does not exist, over Julian's emphatic objection to both the name and the concept.

Somewhere in a stack of twenty-three holos nobody has watched, there's a documentary with a segment about a seventeen-year-old who withdrew from a final three days out and never played again.

Summary
Martok's founder stands accused of cowardice, and the evidence is genuine. Julian is asked to read four centuries of Klingon archives and bring back the truth, and by the second day the truth looks like the accusation.
Then the House of Vrang sends someone down to the records room to tell him to stop, and that's the first thing that doesn't make sense. You don't threaten a man who's about to hand you your victory.
