Summary
He slides the mug over to Shane, his favorite green one with the skeleton of a pterodactyl from the natural history museum. “What if…it’s positive?” Ilya pulls the box towards himself while looking at Shane.
“Then we talk about it,” Shane says easily, blowing on his tea.
“You know it will be,” Ilya widens his eyes shaking his head a little.
Shane shrugs. “Okay, you wanna talk before, then?”
Ilya sighs, tapping his finger against the box. Shane moves around the counter and pulls him firmly into his embrace, running his hands up under his husband’s shirt and smoothing them over his still muscular back.
“Whatever you want is okay, Ilyusha,” Shane says after some time.

OR: Ilya is pregnant with their third child. Shane is entering his last season of hockey. Ilya's niece shows up and is adopted into their enormous family.
Told over the course of Ilya's third and final pregnancy with LOTS of prequels and sequels planned.

In this universe women's paralympic sled hockey exists because it's actually bananas that they don't have women's teams in the paralympics. There are national women's teams but it's a small sport it appears, based on the research I did for the story, but wtf paralympic/sledge hockey committee or whoever is in charge of things like that???
