Summary
George first spoke to Alex at age 8.
They were just competing in a kart race. Chatted for a few minutes before lights out. Talked about the conditions, the weather, their suit colours and why they had chosen their driver numbers. Nothing significant. They’d said goodbye to each other later that day when leaving the track, and Alex noticed the way George’s dad pushed him along when George tried to stop to talk. But he was young. He didn’t know what was going on. It seemed normal.

Franco was 14 when he left his home. He knew it was what had to be done to reach Formula 1. He lived above a kart factory for a while. It wasn’t ideal and it was small, but he could kart. Everyday if he wanted. He loved it there. Yes he didn’t see his family. Yes he did miss his home every now and then. But he was Argentinian. He didn’t have it easy like the European drivers.

Where would you rather die?
In the high octane thrill of speed. In the smoke of donuts and the shine of the first place trophies.
Or in the quiet, dark moments, alone in a bathroom, praying that death would be a soft landing.

Singapore was rough.
It wasn’t a track most drivers looked forward to.
It was so demanding. And Netflix was always there, watching their every move, every struggle in the heat.
It hadn’t always hit Fernando this badly. Usually he was fine. He had been doing this for years. He’d taken part in the hottest race ever. He was fine.

And he can't talk to anyone. Except Fernando
