After scraping off barnacles as her punishment and meeting Flounder, Ariel sat by her bedroom window sad and tired. That night, what if she didn't see Flounder sneaking around? What if she saw a ship? With fireworks? With music? With humans. And on that ship was a young man named Prince Eric who is also living in the same situation as Ariel. After seeing a human and hearing music again after so many years, Ariel starts to feel a sense of happiness and gets a new, unfamiliar feeling.. love, perhaps? Would she see Prince Eric?
Meanwhile, a dark, magical creature is hiding in the shadows, watching and waiting for her time for vengeance.

Jimin and Adella grew up alongside each other, but, like many other childhood friends, they were eventually pulled apart by their differences and the highs and lows of life. They drifted further and further, each one hurting and trying to navigate their own path- till one day, they were nothing but fond, fleeting memories in the other's mind.
By some sort of miracle, their paths cross years later. Adella knows she should run far, far away from Park Jimin.

Welcome to part one of my series called "The Little Mermaid: Life With Mother"! This series is based on the Little Mermaid franchise and includes Queen Athena, Ariel's mother, who survived her fate in Ariel's beginning, allowing her to live throughout the movies!
My inspiration to write this series was that I wanted to see how she could play into Ariel's life. I know that there are several ways to go about this, and for now, I am going to stick to the original storylines as much as possible (While tweaking the lines + adding some scenes that aren't canon) to turn these stories into something fun and new!
For chapters 1-16, the story is focused on the origins of Triton & Athena (Which may be expanded on in the future if I'm up for it), and then the storyline of Ariel's Beginning happens in ch. 17!
