In hindsight, it makes sense that it starts with Steve.
He’s had tumultuous beginnings with a few of the other Avengers, namely Thor and Natasha, but Steve was definitely his more troublesome first encounter, and it was easily the one that was not resolved before there were aliens swarming out of a wormhole into space and trying to destroy the world.
So, yes, it makes sense that it starts with Steve.
