With journalistic zeal and independency, Joost leaves for Detroit, USA, where he, driven by his idealism and the desire to unite humans and androids through his work, clings to the first big android-related case he could find on the news.
He doesn't yet know that here, it's not enough to have enthusiastic eyes and a notepad to get anywhere and he'll have to find connections - connections in the form of an ex-famous cop and his polite android partner.

Lucifer was considered one of the best crime investigators of his generation, a prodigy with impressive arresting numbers for someone who refuses to work with a partner.
Android AL666, code name Alastor, was created to be the top of the top in android technology, and the best detective android CyberHeaven had ever created.
Unfortunately for Lucifer, his hate for androids didn’t stop Adam from pairing the two, forcing him to have a partner for the first time in years. And despite Lucifer’s past trauma with androids, the two manage to work together and forge an unlikely partnership. A partnership that quickly transforms into something more when they are unable to deny the sexual attraction between the two.
But when feelings come to play, will Lucifer’s past trauma with androids be too heavy for him to see Alastor as more than an unfeeling machine? Or will their love be used against each other?

Maybe there's more to this case than just faulty software.
“You will be working as partner to Detective Eddison Watts investigating the recent string of crimes committed by androids. These deviants have broken out of their programming and we will be working with the police to repossess the malfunctioning androids. Your assignment is to aid this investigation in any way you can.”
“And if I’m met with resistance?”
Wilhelmina pauses, “Your orders from Valdivian take priority. Do what you must to further the investigation and return the lost property to the company.”
