Summary
“Our friend has always been one for the people, dear Hades, you should know this. As far as I saw, there were some souls nearby on the other side of the rock we climbed up. I can only assume they were part of her reason. Also, our Azem loves food, so it would not surprise me if it were both,” Hythlodaeus took a long sip of his own tea and smiled at his friend who could only stare back with a narrowed, tight glare. “Azem may be a fool, I agree, but she has great intentions. She is our fool.”
Time for an adventure with the three of them setting out to a volcano that is sure to erupt and cause devastation in its wake. Not that the two of them need to know that anyways. It will be more like a vacation then anything if Azem can manage to quiet the molten rock before it decides to make its way towards a nearby village.
After all there are wonderful grapes there. Ones that are better than any could find in the capital back home. Those should have a right to be saved.

Summary
There was something odd about Azem; the feeling inside his heart proved difficult to define.
Curious about his reaction, he glanced at Hades. His brooding gaze was fixated on her; brow furrowed as if trying to decipher a perplexing riddle.
I see now why she was chosen…Hythlodaeus thought, trying to keep his composure when his eyes met hers. He cleared his throat and bowed.
“So, you are Azem. I am Hythlodaeus, Chief of the Bureau of the Architect. It’s a pleasure to meet you, my lady, albeit the circumstances...”

Summary
It is said that a holder of the seat of Azem will only accept the affections of one who can best them in a fair contest. Lacking skill at arms, at least in comparison, Hythlodaeus issues a most unusual challenge.

Summary
“Hades.” Azem pulled away from him after a long silence, a slight urgency in her voice. “I wanted you to hear this from me…the Convocation seeks a new Emet-Selch. They are considering appointing Hythlodaeus…however—” her cheeks reddened. “I…believe that you are the best candidate for the seat,” she finished hastily.
“Me? As Emet-Selch?” Hades frowned, breaking out of his lull. He suspected that she had been waiting for the right moment to tell him this. “Why me?”
