Summary
Three hundred years ago, Earth was destroyed. Only by shipping offplanet and transitioning into robots does humanity survive--barely. Now, centuries later, what was once their saving grace, Androids, have become expendable. Distrusted, mistreated, and forcibly deactivated, Androids are under attack.
Steve, former human, political dissenter with an ardent love for fire, and now full Android with an inability to keep his goddamned mouth shut, is tired.
Bucky, former human, war survivor who was rescued from a self-loathing spiral out of a literal trash can, and now full Android with emotional turbulence, is lonely.
When the two meet, they find that living is not about what makes them robots, but the spark that makes them human.
But is it too little too late? Because to survive the threat of this new world together, it's possible that simply feeling human may not be enough. (Length- 8 hours)

Before the Great Technology War, Bucky had trained and worked as an Engineer. He didn’t just know how to fix machines and cars. He knew AI, he knew Androids and modern tech. He had worked with them for years. Androids were built by humans to do exactly as told. They had no feelings, even if more and more of them were being given façade personalities. They never disobeyed orders because it just wasn’t in their programming.
And that was why when Bucky Barnes met Steve Rogers for the very first time, he hadn’t even been able to tell.

He’d been sure he’d be able to keep his mandatory android powered off and hidden in the closet of his bedroom, maybe just take it out to do the house-cleaning once a week. At most, if he was feeling lazy, he’d give the thing a grocery list and have it do the shopping while he watched a game on the outdated, second hand, flat screen.
But the first problem with that plan presented itself a few seconds after Steve entered Danny’s home - he didn’t have an off switch.
