This takes place in a small town where color doesn't exist: only misery. Color develops through strong feelings; they can be positive or negative. Unfortunately, colors are considered "threats," and colorful people are aberrations. The people have been trapped in a project designed by the town's owner to make money, forcing others to sing to generate entertainment through pain.
