“Sure.” Glenn stuck his hands in his jacket pockets. The anxiety on Ron’s face eased, and he turned back around as they tried to find the room. They found it. Glenn closed the door behind him as Ron faced him.

Ron was used to weird dreams in this realm. He was used to his father and the other dads talking to him in the dreams and his other dads being the ones to talk to them, loud enough that Ron doesn’t really have to. But here he’s alone. He’s alone and feels scared in a way that he hasn’t been in a very long time. Not since he was young. As he got older he learned how to handle this fear and eventually how to stay away from his father to keep him and his mother safe. But he felt the fear this time. He was so scared and the dark room stretched on for as far as he could see.
“Hello?” Ron tried and quickly realized, he was not an adult here. Ron wasn’t unfamiliar with flashbacks and having dreams of his childhood but this felt different. He wasn’t in his bedroom like he usually is with his flashbacks. He was in a dark room where he couldn’t see anything It was so dark and he was so small and he couldn’t feel anything around him or move around the room. “Is anyone here?”

Glenn just shrugged, taking a long hit and blowing it in the other direction, so it wouldn’t go directly into Ron’s face. Because he was cool like that.

Darryl tries to pump him up before they arrive in Roqueporté but presses his lips in a line when Ron relays this information to him. Henry and Glenn are sleeping in the back. Ron sits in the passenger’s seat with his knees pulled up to his chin.
“Have you felt that way towards him, though?” Darryl asks.
Ron tilts his head. Darryl eyes him, looks back at the road, and continues. “Love and affection. Have you felt those things about him?”
Ron diverts his gaze.

“The guys are restraining him,” Ron continues, “and even though he’s not your real dad I told them not to hurt him. We wouldn’t- I wouldn’t-” Ron stops himself and swallows.
He thinks of his first time visiting his dad’s grave. He remembers seeing a distinct lack of flowers and thinking he should get some but never going through with it. He takes a deep breath in, and he sees Terry Junior’s brows furrow.
“Not without your approval,” He finishes.
