Summary
This story is a rewrite based mostly on the True Blood Universe. The plan is the wind our way through the seasons and all they bring to tell an alternate story about Eric Northman and Sookie Stackhouse. I'm also hoping to introduce alternate relationship developments for other characters as well. There are going to be deviations from the show and books so please keep an open mind.
I also am deviating the story but keeping many elements from the show later on. And I will be revising and editing the story to fix any plot holes and other issues.
The main characters are Eric Northman and Sookie Stackhouse with chapters involving other characters to mostly further the story. HEA Guaranteed for Sookie and Eric.
Please note: There are elements of torture and some elements of non con in certain scenes.
As always if you have any suggestions, please feel free to leave comments. I do try to respond as I am able!
After I finish the book I will be editing it so if anyone wants to beta the book before I finalize it let me know. This is a long way off though!

"ok but where is my comedy fic where alec accidentally portals back to the 19th century (or whenever magnus and camille were hot and heavy) and he has to convince magnus to help him get back to his time without revealing his ~identity/their relationship and trying to control his jealousy because it’s completely irrational and stupid and magnus is his own person and he is allowed a past that doesn’t include them. bonus point if magnus wants to charge him a ridiculous fee and alec is all i have is the shirt on my back, 5$ and my honor but i promise i’ll pay you back in the future which ofc magnus doesn’t like because shadowhunters yikes they can’t be trusted. bonus bonus point if alec has to stop himself from making innuendos about how magnus really wants what he has to offer. then maybe they make an arrangement that alec is going to do him a favor so shenanigans and 19th century demon hunting mission vibes ensue."

Everything has a life-span. Humans, animals, plants, cities, civilizations. Eventually, even the greatest of empires and the most useful of technologies gets replaced by something else. Progress marches on and leaves them in the dust. The problem with Shadowhunters was that they were, quite simply put, obsolete. With nothing else to replace them, they staggered on, an old man still using quill pens after the invention of the typewriter. So they were saying at any rate.
Or, so it occurred to me that, like TLH, TID has a very gender-specific plot that simply wouldn't have worked had Tessa been, say, Terrence. Terrence immediately started living rent-free in my head, so I figured I'd better let him out, and so I did the thing again where I gender-swapped the entire cast, and rewrote it to see what might happen, with a thematically appropriate title. This is that. Featuring way better worldbuilding than my genderbent TLH, and abandoning Charles Dickens in favor of Bram Stoker and Shakespeare. Fair warning this is going to be a bit darker in places, but at least they're communicating.
Or, or, my genderbent-TLH gets a prequel.

Or, I wondered what would've happened if Mortmain did some research on genetics and realized that to get more angelic warlocks you need two of them to start with, and not one and a mundane. So I decided I'd write a little bit and figure that out for myself. I threw in some queer shipping and another couple of plot elements I would've been curious to see in the series, and this was the result.
Or, or, Gregor Mendel and the quest for immortality vs. the plot of The Infernal Devices.
