A saxophone player.
He was an image. Elevated only by the stage platform, he fixed a quick look at the warm bulb of light spilling over his curtain of curly, inky black hair. His gaze seemed auburned by the stare of the audience as he laid the mouthpiece reed to his lower lip, a tiny little sneer on his mouth before he played his first note; as if knowing in those milliseconds just what he was about to do to every single soul in the room.
A trill of notes and practiced fingers on the flat keys of his woodwind. His hips followed the notes, starting to sway as his bare chest flexed over a pair of lungs that could blow a hole in Morris’ sweet long life.
“Oh, my stars…” Morris uttered, taking a hurried, deep gulp of his sugared scotch to assuage how dry his mouth had gone.

“Whatever, we all skipped classes sometimes, right?” he said and Ryan thought he still looked and sounded kind of… sad.
He wanted to say something but he just stood there, unable to explain how he had been too scared to walk into the goddamn classroom. What would he even say? That sounded ridiculous even in his own damn head.
But Shane just shrugged again and walked off.
Ryan has a crush on his professor, who renders him incapable of acting normal around him. Shane keeps on mis-reading the signs.

And sure, he added a bit more sass into his tone than neccessary. But he had heard this tale a million times. His mother pauses in her brushing of his hair to give it another rough tug.
"Come on, mother. I've heard it a million and a half times! Can't you, yknow, tell me a new story?" He sighs, turning around to stare at her. She sighs, dropping Ryan's hair and placing the brush on the ground.

Looking over Ryan’s shoulders Shane could see his ‘spirit box’ on the ground, still poring out static noise. A chair had been knocked over on its side.
Ryan finally looked up, and Shane had to hold back a groan. He felt disgusting. Horrible. Perverted. Ryan’s dark eyes were glossed over, tears trailing down his flushed cheeks, his mouth pink and wet. He felt something twitch and prayed to anything, everything, everyone, that Ryan could not feel it.
“Sorry, I don’t…” Ryan pulled away, wiping his nose. “I don’t know what came over me.”
Shane let out a quiet breath. His chest was free, but it felt heavier than before, colder than the wall he was still stuck to like a fly in a glue trap.
“We can talk about it later, ok?”
Ryan nodded.
“Let’s get out of here. I’ll drive.”
