“I don’t get it,” Coriolanus admitted lamely, hoping he wouldn’t be judged by his lack of understanding. He knew he didn’t have to worry too much with Sejanus, but he was sure if he was him right now he’d be rolling his eyes at how ignorant he was being.

Summary
Treech enters the train back to District 7 all alone. The sole survivor, the "victor" who lost everything.
He steps onto the stone floor of the Capitol's train station with a not-quite-boyfriend, 22 no longer dead tributes, and a drive to make sure this second chance doesn't go to waste. He'll never be the "last one standing" again, he'll make sure of it.

After the events of When The Clock Stops Ticking (We'll Be Painted Red) (no knowledge of previous installments is necessary to read this, I strive to make this work as a stand-alone), Treech somehow travels back in time to find all the tributes alive and well and about to arrive in the Capitol. Now there's an opportunity to be retraumatized! Reaper, the last person to die in the arena, is the only other person aware of the previous timeline, and together they must convince the other tributes to work together and figure out which mentors to involve so they can save everyone and end the games once and for all. All the while, the two realize a thing or two about just how much deeper the bond they formed on that last day truly goes.

“Aunt Elektra?”
The name tumbles out of Coriolanus’ mouth before he can stop it, the woman turned—it was her, his father’s cousin, the same one that had disappeared without a trace while on vacation with her family. Alive and well.
“Coryo,” Elektra greets him with a small but genuine smile, “you’ve grown since the last time I saw you.”
The Snow heir could hear the whispers of those behind him, eyes then shifted from their own, towards the girl just behind Elektra. Pup’s tribute if he remembered right, just as the girl turned to face them, revealing warm hazel eyes, with flecks of gold and green.
She could have been Tigris’ miniature if his cousin was just a bit prettier.
Coriolanus swallowed, if his aunt was here then that meant… that the girl behind her was his cousin. He met her once if he remembered correctly, just what was her name? Lamia, right?
He only really remembered how strange he found it and her. Still, she was a Snow and no Snow would enter the Arena.
(Or, Gaul gets more desperate to make the Games more popular and she makes a dangerous decision; parents of the tributes would also be thrown in the Arena. This changes everything.)

A wave of peace washed over Treech. He was dead. It was over. He was safe.
So why was he still able to think?
Treech had never believed in the afterlife. No. He believed that when you died, you died. That's it. No living on in the clouds with the people you loved there to welcome you. No watching over others who still had the unfortunate luck of living in Earth. He knew it was depressing a depressing thought. Willow had always shook her head at his views of death, claiming that he needed to open his mind to other possibilities, and to stop thinking of the worst possible outcomes. But how could he? He thought it was stupid to have such high hopes for an unrealistic end.
But he obviously hadn't been right, because he was still here. He could still process thoughts. His brain was still working. He could faintly hear his own intake of breath. He could twitch his fingers slightly. Huh.
He wasn't dead. But he should be.
Or: After the events of the 10th Hunger Games, the tributes are brought back to life by Dr Gaul's twisted experiments, and they are thrown back into the Hunger Games. Only this isn't the average Arena. This is the Catching Fire arena.
