Years have passed since the gods were shunted out of The Lands Between. Having left their home to embark on their thousand-year voyage, Phaeryn, a brave Tarnished with a troubled past, and Ranni, newly ascended god and herald of the Dark Moon, thought their journey would pass by in relative peace and quiet after years of fighting. That is, until a desperate call from beyond the stars bids them to help, and soon the duo finds themselves in a brand new world, one without the Grace of Gold and where the gods are a relic of bygone ages.
The young Elden Lord will soon find that things are not at all what they seem on this Middle Earth, and will face challenges far beyond what she had expected. Once the room is cleared he wriggles free like an eel, sour in countenance at his argument being interrupted. “It wasn’t petty drama, I’ll have you know.”

“Your majesty,” Haydn returns acidly with a shallow bow, and turns to leave. He yelps as he’s summarily seized about the back of the neck again, “Stop manhandling me!”
“Would that thou were not in need of handling, little man,” is the growled reply.
The Tarnished who would be Elden Lord faces his most annoying enemy yet: Leyndell's court of nobles. The last thing he needs is to develop a covert admiration for the enigmatic (and scornful) King Morgott - but events at the Serpent-Sunder festival will change everything.
