In which Elrond and Elros are taken from the havens of Sirion by the last remaining sons of Fëanor. Their childhood that follows, and the love that came to grow between them. For they did not seem so terrible to Elrond; one was tall and covered with scars, and his eyes were hollow with some distant sorrow, and yet sometimes he still smiled. The other was gentle, though when they first saw him he held a bloodstained sword in his hand. The other ached to sing.

“Are you going to disappear again?” she asked. Her words were quiet, but they still pierced through the air clearly, and Elrond had no problem understanding what she said. He looked at the sky. The night was nearing its blackest, and he knew Arien set sail here long before she woke them in Beleriand.
“Not yet,” he said.
Sometimes, late at night, Elrond and Elros share a dream of white shores, a path through the woods and a Cottage at the end of it - and of a woman, who keeps insisting that she is their mother, who drowned long ago. Obviously, as Elros likes to remind his twin, she has to be lying.

yet merging softly in the rose-tinted ray.This is an English translation of my own work written in Chinese with the help of LLM models these days. Though I am familiar with this language too, English is not my mother tongue and undoubtably there will be details lost and even some errors, as sentences in Chinese could be quite long. I’m curious about the translation quality and would appreciate any feedbacks.
