She doesn’t know it, of course, but to Nicole it’s clear as day. Nobody with a normal amount of niceness would tolerate her as long as Jecka has. Obviously, Jecka is fucked in the head, because Nicole is a lost cause, and everybody knows it.
Nicole is under no delusions, though. She knows that even though Jecka seems like she cares now, she’s going to leave. Everyone does, Jecka isn’t going to be any different. And Nicole doesn’t care. Nicole doesn’t care about anyone and nobody cares about her, that’s how it works. Jecka is no exception to the rule.
Even though Jecka is Nicole’s only real friend with the exception of possibly Emily. And Jecka hasn’t done anything bad to Nicole in the two years they’ve been friends. And Jecka is really fucking hot, which isn’t gay. Thinking your best friend is hot is normal.
