After the explosive events at his commune, Viktor is captured and taken prisoner by Noxus. Revived by Apex Shimmer, subjugated to experimentation and torture, Viktor is used to develop their weapons via his link to the arcane.
Jayce finds out but is faced with a choice: to finish what he started or to find a new recourse. No matter what he chooses, Viktor is always at the center of it all.

While the sun was up, Caitlyn and Jayce tried to plan for the counterattack they knew Ambessa would be mounting against them any day now. Loris sat by Vi’s bedside for every minute Caitlyn could not.
And in the evenings, long after the moon had taken its place in the sky, she came here. To wait.
She walked slowly around to the other side of the bed – the side that had never been hers, and still wasn’t, even now – and she climbed beneath the covers, scooting over until she was in the center of the mattress. She rolled onto her side to face Vi, reaching across the small space between them to take her hand. As always, she hoped this would be the time Vi’s fingers would curl into her touch. But, also as always, they remained as unresponsive as the night before.

As Caitlyn thought of what to do, the hairs on the back of her neck prickled. Cloudy pink eyes were staring at her from a tear-soaked, ashen face.
Jinx.
Caitlyn had almost forgotten she was there.
Oh, how she’d imagined this moment – coming face to face with her mother’s killer again. Caitlyn used to daydream of wrapping her hands around Jinx’s throat and watching the light leave her eyes. She pictured herself taking the shot and watching in satisfaction as Jinx died by her hand. No one could stop her this time. Her mother would have revenge. Justice would be served. Cassandra would finally be at peace.
But Caitlyn could never imagine what happened next.
“Please,” Jinx said, her eyes unwavering. “You don’t owe me anything, but please. Help her.”

The sound of her breathing mixed with the screams and chaos around her, but her eyes were fixed on one thing: Isha. The girl was aiming at Vander, her eyes shaking but determined. Ready to kill. Ready to die.
"No..." Jinx's scream was a muffled echo. She had to stop her, she had to save her. She couldn't lose her.
She narrowly dodged Vi's hand, barely a blur in the corner of her vision. Her body moved on its own, desperate, as if Zaun itself was pulling her.
And then, everything exploded. A blue flash lit up the world, followed by a wave of searing heat and pain that ripped through her body.
And then, nothing.
Silence.
Until she opened her eyes.
