Summary
Several years after multiple runs of Undertale, Frisk and Chara are free from the control of the Anomaly. Despite that, their relationship is rocky at best, but unfortunately, when you're both stuck by the SOUL, you can't just leave the other behind. As a result, both are forced to endure several misadventures together, and along the way, hopefully learn more about one another.
(Couple notes: both Frisk and Chara are somewhere in their mid-late teens, and neither are fully wholesome people, though they both also don't lean towards outright evil even at their worst. The story is written chapter-to-chapter, so expect a loose narrative at best with not much coherency, at least at the start.)

Summary
Asriel came to the surface, having absorbed Chara's soul, but he did not find humanity. He found what was left on them. Humans were on the defensive, driven back by a magical force that wasn't monsterkind, leaving room for monsters to claim their place in the sun.
Now, Frisk travels to the new monster capital and finds themselves more entangled in the politics of monsters than any mage has cause to be. They must work with a noticeably erratic Monster King Asriel and assist with his many pet projects. The least of which is the extraction of an intact human soul from a monster, the greatest of which is to unravel the worst threat that monsters have ever faced. If they fail, monsters won't be exiled beneath another barrier. They will perish, humanity alongside them.

Summary
In which Monsters had never left the world, and the war that separated the two races was merely a 'what if'. But peace is slowly fading between the two races, violence is rising, and now more than ever, is a solution is needed.
Frisk has always had more than enough compassion and kindness to go around. A lonely skeleton has no idea why a human -of all creatures- would voluntarily put themselves through hell on earth. And for some reason, Asgore truly believes that this short, stubborn, determined little human will be monsters saving grace.
Or, in which Frisk often acts before thinking, and in one afternoon finds themselves as the monsters ambassador.

They may remember turning these monsters to dust in the timeline before, but after waking up in Frisk's body in the middle of the night, Chara can't help but remember the friendships they made too. They never saw it coming that after a route of death and decay, the young human would spare every monster in the underground.

If easy meant being the only last living child of two magicians that made the barrier that stopped the war between monsters and humans and is now being haunted by two spirit like things that seem insane themselves and is being forced to eliminate all monsters underground because of fear that they may come back soon though that was just a cover-up for an even bigger plan. Yeah... Real easy.
