Summary
Gods, it had burned. First, in the air, then in the water, then in her.
She remembered waking up on a makeshift bedroll. In truth, it had been little more than a small pile of hay with a thin blanket thrown on top. Sprawled out on her back, everything had just ached at first. Then, she had tried to lift her arm.

Summary
"Isseya paused, tilting her head this way and that. The mirror was covered in grime, wreathed in blight - what little reflection it offered was indistinct, at best. Perhaps that was why something didn't look…quite right. She could almost swear, as she peered at herself, that she saw a darkspawn looking back at her, as monstrous as any other."
Isseya has emerged from the Deep Roads, centuries after her Calling, for one reason only - to seek out and protect the remaining griffons. Twisted by the blight and barely clinging to any sort of sanity, Isseya searches for a way to safeguard them from the sickness that claimed the rest of their kind. She finds, instead, Ghilan'nain, who is all too eager to offer her assistance.

Summary
Veilguard's companion questlines are the heart of the game, and also clearly where they expect to win the player's. It is incredibly frustrating, then, that they are all so - not even bad as uneven and unexplored.
So, I am going to spend thousands and thousands of words working through my frustrations going through each one, finding what seems like compelling themes and conflicts in it, and laying out how I'd have written it to focus on them.

Summary
When Davrin and Rook reach their final confrontation with the Gloom Howler, they're interrupted by the last person they'd expect. But Valya followed them for a reason, and she won't let them kill Isseya until they know the truth.
The whole truth, this time.
“Yes, corpses. That Isseya is responsible for,” Davrin snapped. “Release her, and let us end this. Nothing you have to say will make a difference.”
“You’re wrong.” Valya looked at the caged Howler. “If you’re half the Warden that Antoine and Evka think you are, it will matter. Please, let me prove it to you.”

Summary
The background behind Garahel shifts time and time again, leaving some art historians in the past to wonder if the same man was even being depicted. Was the art of a real man, or of a generic figure of a Warden, exemplifying different parts of the Wardens’ history?
Through Garahel, an art scholar attempts to unpick the meaning of Wardens in Thedas across the years.
