Overall: After seeing a bad accident, Lewis rethinks things, and decides he wants to get on better terms with his former teammate.
This wouldn't be so difficult if their pride, a divorce, and a long-unfinished case didn't stand in their way.

But there’s also this other thing, that’s been rummaging around Lewis for a while already, and he doesn’t know who he could speak with. No one knows, except the ones involved, and it has to stay that way. It’s too much, Lewis hasn’t even told Anthony about it yet, but he has to talk with somebody, if he doesn’t want to explode. And Nico is probably the worst possible option to do it, for a variety of reasons. It’s not as if they are friends, but they aren’t enemies either - at least not anymore. It’s hard to have known each other for their entire careers, so deeply intertwined, and not have any sort of term to describe their relationship. Maybe that’s exactly why Lewis feels the need to talk about it with him, now. Maybe it can’t be with anyone else.

Charles has to assume Carlos knows by now; they should’ve told him. He doesn’t know how long they took to tell Sebastian, but it had been almost inevitable for him. He walked into the 2020 season with an air of resignation. With Carlos…everyone thought he was going to get another year, at least. Charles thought he was going to get another year. Then, Carlos would move to Audi, to the surprise of approximately no one, and the two of them would part, and Charles would spend the rest of his career smiling at him across the room, fist bumping him in press conferences, and never touching him more than the others deemed appropriate.
