"It has been a long time coming." Saul murmured.
"What has?"
"The endgame, Carrie. The endgame."

Summary
Homeland s2 AU. Earlier in the season, Brody and Jessica decide to split up for everyone's sake. Brody goes to live with Carrie, Mike moves in with Jessica and the kids and everyone tries to move on with their lives.
Just an attempt at writing a somewhat happy life where Carrie and Brody get what they deserved, move in together and try to balance their crazy schedules somehow.
Originally planned to be a one-shot work only but I keep coming back to them time and time again, so this is becoming a collection of drabbles and one-shots starring C/B and their families !
TW: strong language; PTSD; mentions of torture, and physical abuse.
Not abandoned work, just randomly updated!

“I killed him.”
“No you didn’t. You were bringing him back, and you would have made it…”
“No. I killed him. I killed him when I sent him on that helicopter… I killed him when I took him to see Dana, both times… I killed him when I left him at the border… He was rotting away in Caracas. I left him to rot in a hole after eight years of…”
“He would have died a long time ago… in a suicide bomb vest, if not for you.”

Summary
This is post-season 4 re-imagined. In this, Carrie manages to successfully blackmail Dar, Saul is not a traitor, Quinn comes back home after two missions, and the aftermath of what happens when they see each other again. Navigating the domestic normalcy of life without a life-risking mission around every bend is something I've always wanted to see Quinn and Carrie do, so I fixed the ending of season 4 to show what I imagine would have happened between them.

Summary
"She loved her daughter, and she loved defending America. She loved defending America, and she defied CIA orders in favor of a joyride around Afghanistan with a GRU agent. Sometimes one truth had to win out over the other, but usually she had no trouble holding onto two opposing facts, one in each hand.
Currently, in Moscow: she’s in exile, and she’s feeding America valuable intelligence. She loves Yevgeny, and she’s lying to him."
Winter 2020, 2.5ish years later.

Summary
"She laughs at the impact of her Catholic upbringing: it didn’t stop her from sinning, but she still carries the guilt around with her like an extra layer of clothing."
Berlin, 2014-15: Carrie uses the church to come to terms with motherhood, and starts to believe that she's deserving of happiness.

Summary
"A book, of course, has the added benefit of being a perfect cover to shield her from suspicion, to finally shake her Russian surveillance detail and set her up to develop assets. If she has to destroy every remaining shred of goodwill she has with the US intelligence community, at least she can benefit from it later.
And wasn’t that what Saul taught her, that the long game was the most important thing above all else? That self-sacrifice was worthwhile if you later had something to show for it?"
A reflection on motherhood, legacy, and Carrie's first few months in Moscow.

Summary
His “thank you” came on shuddering breath and he realized he wasn’t just thanking her for cleaning his spectacles. He was thanking her for surviving unthinkable despair, for coming back to him, for granting him absolution and grace with the beating of her heart. She could have given up so many times, and certainly it would have been so much easier. He didn’t have a clue why she survived or how, but he found he was just so unspeakably grateful that she had.
