He’d always loved the ocean. Deep blue waves that hit the shores violently as if to swallow him. Often he came to the beaches of valinor to sing and play, more frequently in the fall when the winds were piercing and the weather harsh. Now he wasn’t sure how long it would be before he saw it again.
Or, Maglor is faced with the decision of following his father into exile or staying with the one he loves, Eönwë is there to comfort him.

Makalaurë thinks he must be dreaming, must be applying Finno’s actions to himself – it cannot be true, there cannot be two cousins, two harps, two approaches, in one day. It is too much, the old blood is too fresh, the deaths are too many, it cannot be true.It is the day of Maedhros' rescue, and Maglor is struggling.

In Rivendell, in the third age, Maglor finds Gil-Galad's missing war journal which reveals that his own actions put Elrond and Elros in harm's way. Maglor apologizes to Elrond and... it does not go well.
Elrond is forced to confront the fact that no, ignoring trauma does NOT make it go away. Conflict abounds and the children intercede with surprising wisdom.
