You've watched as Marie and the others recruited new members, saved and lost the Great Zapfish, and lost and saved Callie. You witnessed Agent 8 save the world from Commander Tartar's plans and saw Neo Agent 3 stop "Hairmageddon."
But never once did Marie or Callie mention you. You were the first; you were the one who saved the Great Zapfish before Inkopolis even realized it was missing. According to Callie, you were Marie's favorite long ago. But it seems you no longer hold that title.
You were Agent 7, the last of the Defense Core.
But those days are over. You're 21 now, and it's time to move on from those golden eyes...

Splatoon has always been a favorite series of mine since its appearance on the Wii U and right away I thought Pearl was a brat who could use time back in diapers. Having been in plenty of online circles and chats in the community through the years it never fails that littles get into a pecking order of who is the ‘smallest’ who is the biggest baby even if they are both padded up and clearly quite little. Thinking on having seen so many of those engagements I found some fun material to craft this tale that would be the first time I borrowed the series for my writing and would be the map for my later story, Crinkle Mari Inkantation.

Callie wasn’t as impulsive as people thought she was. No, no she wasn’t. Or at least- not as much as she self reflected to? She made conscious decisions though, that was her point. Ditzy, she could be sometimes. But when she had her heart on something, it was often with lots of thoughts pre-stewed over backing it up.
So trust her when she says her decision to help Pearl and Marina’s lil ‘metro rehabilitation project’ was definitely not something she jumped immediately on the second it was mentioned as only an IDEA in Marina’s lil chat room and please believe that she very calmly and dignity agreed to the offer instead of spam a bunch of pink heart emojis, key-smashes, yass’s, and at some point a piano emoji cause her thumb slipped.
UNFORTUNATELY, she can’t say the project was moving at top speed, even with her contributions. Zombie speed actually. Pun not intended despite what Marie would say. But that all changes when she meets Dedf1sh. And it changes further, when she Promises that she's going to help her get back to normal.
And luckily there was soon to be an opportunity where she'd do just that.
