He buried Sin for the sake of Sindria. Now Sinbad is back from the dead—and Ja’far isn’t sure how to reconcile the two versions of the man he once loved. What he does know is that resurrection doesn’t come with immunity, and Sinbad might want to sleep with one eye open. After all, love is complicated. Revenge even more so—and Ja’far still has a few knives with his former king’s name on them.

He was born into this world a miracle. He was not a saviour from another world— he was a saviour from this one. His father an outcast, his mother ill and he, an orphan. He had dragged himself through dirt and mud, limb by limb, to rise above and bring the world with him. He had purpose and a dream, and to the lost girl who knew of nothing, not even herself, he was life itself. And so, her destiny became him.

This was an idea suggested to me by someone going by "GreenSphynx" in a tumblr post.
Something always happened at Sindrian banquets and that night was no exception. Sindria's most dedicated government official became hilariously drunk and his ensuing behavior at the party raised more than a few eyebrows. Concerned, and maybe a tad bit jealous, Sinbad swore to protect Ja'far's innocence at all costs.

Gift fic For the wonderful nesakii/saisquei or tumblr, sorry this took so long!
Prompt: Ja’far’s mom used to sing lullabies to him in the short time he had with her. And maybe Rurumu sang to him too, if he had nightmares as a child. The headcanon in itself: Ja’far hums/sings when he’s really tired/emotionally exhausted (kind of like it comes from his subconscious?) and both Sinbad and the generals were surprised when they first heard him, bc he doesn’t seem like the singing type?
Or: A pleasant evening drinking turns into a grand debate over the subject of Ja'far's odd habit.
