Ok so I was doing my rewatch of Helluva boss and thought of a great fic idea after watching the 3rd episode again.
After we learned about Moxxies abusive dad and how his mom died I got the idea to write a fic about how Moxxie is scared of water.
Thennnnmn I watched ep3 and had an idea for an AU where they go through with Blitzos plan to dump the bodies in the lake.
And it was the perfect amount of stupidity to make angst 😈

'Crimson liked to eat steak.
He had it rare, dark black liquid leaking onto his plate as he cut into the meat with perfect precision. The sight never failed to make Moxxie's gut churn, as ridiculous as he knew that was– he was in the mafia, and had been for fifteen years. He shouldn't have been scared by a little blood.
And yet, Moxxie could never bring himself to eat it, not like that. It had taken him a while to figure out how to properly utilise his cutlery– far longer than it should have, really– and even once he'd done so, there was always a sense of discomfort that settled in his gut when he watched the glinting metal of his knife sink into thoroughly-cooked brown meat.
Of course, he didn’t say anything about it. It was stupid, and wouldn’t result in any change, so Moxxie bore through it. It wasn’t a hardship to eat, it was a privilege, especially high-quality food like that. Moxxie should have been grateful.
But every bite he took only seemed to make him feel more and more nauseous.'

It was two years later where another trip from the theater caused their parents to die from another wannabe mugger.
Several years later the child, who in truth was an imp returns every year for the anniversary of the death of the people he saw as parents just as much as his biological mother, with him for the first time bringing his wife with him.
