Naruko was noisy, and annoying, and way too flashy for Imaizumi's tastes; he was the polar opposite of the calm and quiet that Imaizumi loved and always searched and wanted around him. He shouldn't have had a crush on Naruko, it was absurd - Naruko was everything Imaizumi didn't like, at all.
Or, at least, that's what Imaizumi had thought, what he had tried – and failed – to convince himself of; because, at this point, it was pretty obvious that Naruko was exactly what Imaizumi liked, way more than Imaizumi himself had ever thought he could like anyone. -
