Summary
“No worries.” Karl says, quiet and small. Sapnap moves his hand, leaning back into the leather seat cushion. He’s still buzzing with energy, and the skin where his ankle touches Karl’s is electrified.
The rest of the ride is silent. Sapnap’s inhibitions are completely thrown out the window and he stares. The boy resting softly against the window beside him looks angelic. His hair curled around his face in perfect little swirls, and they framed him like tiny halos. Dim lighting robbed Sapnap’s eyes of further details, but throughout the entire ride a tiny grin remained, and a single dimple was the only thing that stuck out. Karl’s hands fidget where they’re clasped in his lap, and he wants to tangle his fingers in the mess. Unabashedly Sapnap thinks, thinks about how adorably soft the skin behind his ears would be to kiss, or his spindly fingers intertwined with his own.
Sapnap meets a boy in his third period physics class, but there's something about him Sapnap can't seem to shake.

Dream knew his spot on the football team was practically guaranteed, having played quarterback since his freshman year (one of the youngest in the school’s history, he’d been told). His life was playing out like a bad teen Disney movie, minus the head cheerleader hanging off his arm. He hadn’t exactly intended for that to be the case - he was just naturally athletic, he was polite, he found it easy to make friends.
A warm voice came from the front of the room, “And please welcome our exchange student this year, George Davidson. He’s here from our sister-school in London, and will be on campus until summer next year.”
Karl's hosting the new exchange student, and Dream wants to adopt him into his little group of dumb loud friends. It takes Dream a while to realise that he's actually falling in love.

Karl Jacobs was never one to complain. He took subpar grades with a pained smile on his face, stubbed his toe on his dresser nearly every morning and simply walked it off each time with nothing but a sharp inhale. Today, though, was different. Much different, in fact. Karl had woken up and looked at his phone only to see that he had slept through the five alarms he had set after a long night studying. He tripped over his own feet in a rush as he put on the most mismatched outfit that would ever grace the hallways of Stephen Mills High.
His eyes rolled as he quietly scoffed to himself. Of course, with his luck, on an already awful day he gets paired with Nick Sharpe. Nick Sharpe, a basketcase athlete who cares about nothing but doing the bare minimum so he can stay in football. Nick Sharpe, someone who’s never bothered to stay awake for their shared first period class.

Out of everyone at the party, Sapnap only found one interesting.
A boy who seemed to be super out of place. He was surrounded by a bunch of jocks. They were trying to make him do something he wasn’t comfortable with, that got on Sapnap’s nerve. They were all chanting and one of them was holding a funnel and a couple of others held up a beer keg. Sapnap was just standing back; he didn’t know if he should intervene or not.
It wasn’t till one of the dudes placed his hands on the shorter kid's shoulder and started to force him to stand still as another dude tried to force the funnel into the kid's mouth. That's when Sapnap decided to stop him.

Of course, it takes only a certain amount of time until this backfires.
