Karl swallows without realizing before speaking up, “Hey, everything good? Need any help?”
Green eyes are on Karl immediately, slightly wide and filled with anger along with the fear Karl erupted inside of them. His hand drops from his mouth and is wiped on his shorts while those green eyes analyze the brunet. Pale thighs shift and are soon basically eye-level with Karl from his position on the ground below the U-Haul. The other man doesn’t say anything.
“Sorry, I should probably introduce myself. My name is Karl Jacobs, I’m your next door neighbor…” Karl introduces himself, even going as far as pointing at his own house when mentioning them being neighbors. He debates giving him the rundown—offering up the fact that he has children, his age, but he decides there is a line that needs to be drawn between him and this stranger.
OR; two divorced men navigate their way down a road where love is possible again, even with their own families and opposing manners of love.

God save you if you hear something wandering around nearby, because it sure as hell has heard you.

Written by our system for fun from a though we had in our physical science class while obsessed with the idea. We probably should've paid more attention to neutrons and protons and stuff but we spent more time studying the Backrooms and thinking of a DSMP AU for it! This is updated whenever we add to it but won't be our main focus! If you'd like to read the story that is the system's main focus then please do check out Run Away With Me which is a DNF story written by three of the fictives in our system. I can guarantee it will be more updated than this!

“Shut up,” Karl laughs, “they mean patience.” He pauses thinking for a second before continuing his thought, “you could use some spiders in your life.”
“What? Are you saying I'm not patient enough?”
Karl shakes his head, resting on of his hands on Sapnap’s chest, “You are plenty patient,” he taps his hand against Sapnap’s skin and bones, he feels like if Karl just pushed a little bit more he would burst through all the muscle and all the tissue protecting his heart, if Karl pushes just a little bit more he could open Sapnap’s chest cavity and devour what is truly his.
Or
Sapnap decides that he misses the pretty brunette boy who isn't his a little bit too much, so he agrees to go to a family event with him, not knowing he would get trapped in the web of fake dating and overbearing thoughts.

Karl opened their mouth to tell him, to have him adjust his hold or to let go, just that they couldn’t breathe in general, but nothing would come out. They didn’t have the air.
“S-ap-!” Karl gasped, violet eyes widening in fear as they frantically tapped Sapnap’s wrist, “I can’t- Can’t breathe-!”
Nothing happened. Sapnap was still just standing there, smiling at them like nothing was wrong. Terror gripped Karl’s heart as they started to hyperventilate— Or at least, they would have if they could have gotten enough air. They started hitting against Sapnap’s arm, words becoming too difficult to use as they started getting less and less oxygen. Karl’s eyes filled with tears as they stared at their friend, desperately trying to get him to understand that he was hurting them, that they were scared and then-

A book glowing, in whispers all around with that the person was gone. Fire burns, Unresolved Tension, missing fiancée, a mask that smiles, a white castle, a black castle, copies of that person, but that person is nowhere to be found. See? Not that Simple.
Except for time, apparently.When you live in a world run by three lives you should have three lifes too right? But there's only two people who don’t. The mask man who’s in chains, The glitch, and that’s it. All the man wanted to do was HELP. Is this man immortal or just a glitch? The white castle seems to be pretty happy with what it has done. The other side was different; it was crying out for it’s owner. Who is it’s owner? The person ISN’T a glitch their from the void. And the feeling of hurting someone still stays even if they never wake up.

The first time plays out like normal, because there isn’t any reason to suspect anything is wrong. The second time they don’t think anything of it, because at this point it’s nothing but coincidence.
The third time, they notice. The fourth time, they joke around and have fun with it.
By the tenth round, it’s getting tiring. Part of that is probably because Dream keeps winning.
Or: A glitch in the simulation causes Karl and Dream to get locked in the roles of murderer and sheriff respectively.

Karl Jacobs was never one to complain. He took subpar grades with a pained smile on his face, stubbed his toe on his dresser nearly every morning and simply walked it off each time with nothing but a sharp inhale. Today, though, was different. Much different, in fact. Karl had woken up and looked at his phone only to see that he had slept through the five alarms he had set after a long night studying. He tripped over his own feet in a rush as he put on the most mismatched outfit that would ever grace the hallways of Stephen Mills High.
His eyes rolled as he quietly scoffed to himself. Of course, with his luck, on an already awful day he gets paired with Nick Sharpe. Nick Sharpe, a basketcase athlete who cares about nothing but doing the bare minimum so he can stay in football. Nick Sharpe, someone who’s never bothered to stay awake for their shared first period class.
