You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now
Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound"Adora knew high school wasn't supposed to be easy, but a wildly dangerous pandemic wasn't something she had been expecting. Years later and Adora is living as comfortably as she can in a safe zone, doing her part by going out on runs into the outside to bring back much needed supplies. She's good at it, and it keeps her busy. All good things have to come to an end though, and this safe zone is no exception. During their escape, Catra - the girl she'd had a budding crush on in high school- does something that Adora isn't sure she can forgive. Catra didn't have a choice, it was life or death. Adora would understand that eventually. Even if she didn't, Catra wasn't sure she cared. She hadn't care about much of anything in a long, long time.
Separated from the rest of their escaped group, Catra and Adora have to find some way to get along long enough to reach the next safe zone before winter comes into full effect and they freeze to death. Winter is the least of their worries though, they have the infected to worry about.WONT BE COMPLETED SORRY :(

it’s a habit left over from months ago, from when they would wake up and be hit with such an overwhelming sense of wrong that they’d press a hand flat to their collarbone and tell themself to get fucking used to it.

Summary
Half a year ago, Catra and their newly out best friend escaped their dead-end stifling hometown to move to the city, where they were each finally able to live as themselves.
Now, summer has rolled around, and Bightmoon is awash with rainbow flags and supportive messaging. Despite their reluctance, Catra is dragged along to the annual Pride festival by their friend.
Despite the loud noises, and suffocating crowds, Catra can't seem to find it in themself to be annoyed. Not when Adora is smiling as bright, or holding their hand as tight. Maybe someday soon they'll finally be able to confess how they feel.

If she fails this interview, at least she will have some personal information to report back to Glimmer. "I have a feeling that you are not the kind to go blabbering to the press, but I have to be sure you understand. Once you sign that NDA, The Fright Zone will not hesitate to sue you should you breach the contract."
Willing her racing heart to slow the fuck down, Adora responded with as much sincerity as she could muster. "I understand."
"Well in that case," Scorpia rose and made her way around the desk. Adora stood up a little too fast, her head spinning, but was still able to firmly grasp the handshake that was offered to her. "Welcome to The Fright Zone, Miss Greyskull."
