On stage Christine and Erik were singing their hearts out, it was a truly beautiful performance. How unfortunate that no one would remember tonight for the show but for the tragedy about to unfold. Emile pulled the knife from his pocket, readying himself for what must come next. Christine's angelic voice paused mid-note. Emile looked towards the stage. Erik had also stopped singing. Christine Daaé is practically a sister to Emile. Erik, the man he loved and the man Emile was giving his life for. Both stared at him in horror, as he stood just in view of the stage, knife in hand. Erik’s command for him to stop, mixed with Christine's desperate scream. Emile sliced through the fastenings to the chandelier.
